2. RACE FEE AND ENTRY PRE-REQUISITE

To be able to participate in the Preikestolen Trailrun, you have to be at least 15 years old on race day.

2025 Preikestolen Trailrun Couse Race Fees: €130 and it includes:

  • Trailrun race of your life, race volunteers, safety arrangement, aid stations, finisher's plaque, etc.

  • Finisher meal, drinks you order and pay at the bar.

  • Invitation to join Rockman After Party at BaseCamp.

  • Access to book accommodation at BaseCamp.

Your race entry is non-refundable and non-transferable.

PS NOTE! We offer a Refundable Booking options at a 15% premium when signing up to the event. This is an additional offering/insurance to athletes offered through RaceID. The Refundable Booking allows you to claim a full refund of your registration fee (including any extras and additional products bought during registration) in case you cannot take part in Preikestolen Trailrun 2025 due to any emergency circumstances. 3. RACE COURSE

3.1 Race course

  1. Follow the official course map and markings.

  2. Deviating from the marked course = disqualification.

  3. Respect all trail users. Walk carefully past tourists on narrow or dangerous sections.

  4. Do not follow GPS watches. Race staff has the right to change the course at any time, even DURING the race, as necessary. Follow the markings on the course.

3.2 Checkpoints

  1. Several checkpoints are shown on the course map.

  2. Additional unannounced checkpoints may be used.

  3. Missing or failing to reach a checkpoint by cutoff = disqualification.

3.2 Weather conditions

  1. Race officials may alter or cancel the race due to severe weather or unexpected hazards.

  2. Expect cold water (11–17°C) and rapidly changing mountain conditions.

4. EQUIPMENT

4.1 General Equipment

  • All athletes must bring all their mandatory gear themselves to race registration.

  • Details for mandatory equipment are provided below, and kits will be checked before the race. If you cannot show all required gear, you will NOT be provided with your race bib and therefore not eligible to start the race.

 4.2 Mandatory equipment checks:

  • You MUST bring your bandage and whistle with you at race check-in. Failure to bring these two items for inspection will result in not receiving your bibs and you will not be allowed to start the race.

  • Random spot checks will be conducted before the race. Missing any required item will result in a disqualification.

4.3 Mandatory Equipment from Start to Finish:

  • 1x First aid pressure bandage

  • 1x Whistle per athlete

  • 1x Water flask (min. 500ml) per athlete

4.4 Supplied by Rockman race:

  • 1x Race bib (must be worn and visible the entire race) (please remember to return bib after race).

5. TIMING

5.1 Timing

  • Timing starts at race start and ends at finish line.

  • Results will be posted on Rockman website and social media.

5.2 Cut off times

Athletes/Teams failing to pass a checkpoint by the specified cutoff times will be disqualified.

  • Pulpit Rock junction - 17:00 CET. Any athlete arriving at this intersection after completing the turnaround at Pulpit Rock will be directed to follow the tourist trail down to the finish line. Continuing on the full course beyond this point will not be permitted after the cutoff time.

6. athlete RESPONSIBILITies

6.1 General Conduct

  1. The athletes must know the rules and follow these.

  2. The athletes shall respect other athletes, organization, spectators, tourists, the environment and the people living in the race area. Unsportsmanlike conduct - First offense = immediate disqualification.

  3. The athletes are not allowed to use unfair methods to get advantages.

  4. Doping is forbidden as per Norges Idrettsforbund (NIF).

  5. The athletes are obliged to help, in case of emergency, if the organization is asking for it.

  6. Any gate that is opened must be closed, even if it’s left open by another athlete.


6.2 Pre-Race

  • Athletes may train on the course but must respect private property and follow Norway’s “Allemansretten.”

6.3 During the Race

  • Stay within 10 meters of marked trail/course.

  • Litter only at aid stations. First offense = disqualification.

  • Injured athletes must notify race staff ASAP.

  • Athletes race at their own risk.

7. Race Jury, Protests, and Rule Enforcement

7.1 Race Jury
The Race Jury is composed of the three Race Directors and the Head of Safety.

The Race Jury is responsible for:

  • Enforcing the race rules

  • Ruling on protests

  • Issuing disqualifications or penalties

  • Deciding on course or rule changes

At least two members must be present to make an official decision. The jury may use common sense to resolve situations not explicitly covered by the rules. All Race Jury decisions are final and binding.

7.2 Protests
Protests must be submitted in writing within one hour of finishing the race.

The protest must include:

  • Time and location of the incident

  • Race number and signatures of the protesting athlete(s)

  • Race number or name of the athlete/team the protest concerns

  • Description of the issue

  • Witness names or team numbers, if available

The Race Jury will review and communicate their decision as soon as possible to those involved.

7.3 Disqualifications
Violations of race rules may result in time penalties or disqualification, depending on severity.

8. General Safety Rules

  • Course Boundaries: Athletes must stay within 10 meters of the marked course while on land.

  • Medical & Safety Authority: Race officials or medical staff may stop an athlete or team if:
    a) Required safety equipment is missing
    b) They are deemed physically unfit to continue due to fatigue or condition

9. Branding & Media Rules

9.1 Sponsor Markings

  • Athletes/teams may display sponsor logos on their race gear.

9.2 Race Bibs

  • Must be worn and visible at all times.

  • Modifications are not allowed.

9.3 Media Rights

  • By participating, athletes grant the race organization the right to use any photos or video taken during the event for promotional, press, online, TV, and film purposes without compensation.

  • Athletes also agree to the use of drones by the official media team for filming during the race.

10. Rule Penalties

The following is a summary of the most common Competition Rule violations and penalties and is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of violations and penalties. Athletes are responsible for full understanding and compliance.

10.1 Mandatory Equipment

  • Missing any required mandatory equipment when asked to produce it will result in immediate disqualification.

10.2 Littering

  • First Offense: Disqualification

10.3 Outside Assistance

  • Accepting help from non-race personnel (excluding other racers or officials): Disqualification

10.4 Unsportsmanlike Conduct

  • Disqualification

10.5 Course Deviation

  • Time penalty or disqualification (at official’s discretion)

By entering Preikestolen Trailrunall athletes have accepted the rules in full.
